Who We Are
Apogen Technologies is a leading provider of technology solutions in the federal marketplace. Apogen, a combination of the words Apogee (the highest point of an orbit) and Genesis, means the height of creation. The name underscores our vision of “Aiming Higher” in providing customers with the right technology solutions. With nearly 1,000 employees nationwide, Apogen is ranked number 48 on Washington Technology’s list of Top 100 Federal Prime Contractors and is also listed in the top 10 Department of Homeland Security contractors.
In September 2005, Apogen became a wholly-owned subsidiary of QinetiQ North America joining Foster Miller, Inc and Westar Aerospace & Defense Group as the U.S. arm of QinetiQ. QinetiQ was founded in July 2001 from the majority of the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA) and the laboratories of the UK Ministry of Defense (MOD), QinetiQ today has grown internationally, with 12,000 employees in the UK and U.S., many of them internationally acclaimed experts, providing government and commercial customers unparalleled resources to create, evaluate, test, and deliver technology based services, solutions and products.

Our Technology Research and Development (R&D) group supports all four units. Apogen Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Apogen, was created to provide IT consulting and services to state and local governments as well as commercial clients.
